Hello quiltologists!
The spring class schedule is now posted.
Coming up in March (yes, I know I’m pushing the season here) we’re working on the log cabin block.
This traditional pattern is perfect for scrappy patchwork. There are all sorts of variations from the squared up version to courthouse steps and the deceptively simple curved pattern. Pick your pattern!
If you like the shop sample we made out of Amy Butler’s Belle and Lotus fabrics, you’re in luck. This fabric has been retired—but we still have a few kits left—so students enrolled in the class can purchase one at a 25% discount while supplies last.
Got tees? Make a quilt out of them!
We’re repeating the T-shirt quilt class in April.
Come May we’re shifting into technique mode. Learn the secret to piecing perfect triangles in the Zig Zag class or take a leap into machine appliqué made easy with a sweet little baby quilt pattern we just designed for Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting magazine. (more on this news to follow…!)
The Beginning Sewing class moves to the first two Tuesday nights each month and is limited to 4 students. We’ve been making Denyse Schmidt inspired tote bags that are perfect for carrying around your sewing/knitting/crafty stuff. Check out pictures of the projects our alumns have produced!
Finally, the Q101—Intro to Patchwork class has found a home on Wednesday nights. The urban amish quilt is a perfect learning piece for beginners, but you’re welcome to repeat the class and work on some of our newer patterns too! We can help you with Lincoln Park Patchwork, City Blocks and/or the always popular Blooming 9-patch!
Susan Holton will continue to teach her monthly Machine Quilting workshops and I will help students with binding class on an individual basis. Email info@quiltology.com to schedule a time.
Cheers everybody,
Colette
