Q101--Intro to Patchwork

Wednesday April 7, 14, 21 & 28 @ 6:30p to 8:30p

$125 + supplies

Teacher: Colette Cogley

Do you want to learn how to piece patchwork—but have little to no sewing experience?

No problem! As long as you know how to wind a bobbin and thread the machine—or have taken our sewing machine basic class—you’re good to go.

We’ve designed our new Urban Amish quilt as the perfect beginner’s project. The design plan for this quilt top is simple—the sewing easy—and the result extraordinary!

You’ll learn the quilter’s essential skill set—how to rotary cut fabric, work with various measures on your ruler, sew quarter inch seams and construct a patchwork quilt top from strip sets and basic blocks.

Next session:

Wednesday May 5, 12, 19 & 26 @ 6:30p to 8:30p

Q102--The Curved Log Cabin

Q102--T-shirt Quilt

Thursdays April 8 & 15 @ 6:30 to 8:30p

$75 + supplies

Got lots of tees?  Here’s your chance to save them forever in a fun memory quilt!

In this two-session class we’ll get you on your way to creating a custom quilt top using our Quiltology design that showcases each shirt’s full graphic in our signature column style.

Week 1—you’ll learn how to prepare your shirts for patchwork.  We’ll show you how to stabilize the cotton knit fabric with fusible interfacing and fussy cut for the graphics.

Week 2—we’ll help you measure and draft a custom pattern that’s sized for your shirts and get you on your way to piecing the top.

NOTE:  there is homework involved in this class.  You will need to finish fusing and cutting your shirts between week 1 and 2 so you’re ready to sew in the second session.

Sorry--this is NOT a beginner class--you must have sewing skills and access to a sewing machine in order to finish this project up at home!
