Sewtology101--Sewing Machine Basics

$50 (includes class supplies)

Thursday May 1--THIS CLASS IS FULL

NEXT SESSION--June 5 @ 6:30p to 8p

Teacher: Susan Holton

Do you have a sewing machine and aren’t quite sure how to use it?

Or are you thinking about buying one?

Sewtology 101 is a single session fast start class for students who’ve never sewed before or a great refresher for those who haven’t sewed in sometime. The goal of this class is to help you gain an overview of basic sewing machines and practice beginning sewing skills.

In this one evening session we’ll walk you through the sewing machine, explain the different parts and show you how they function. You’ll learn how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine, use different presser feet and adjust stitches. Then we’ll put you through some basic sewing practice exercises so you’ll become comfortable with simple seam construction.

This class is limited to four students—and serves as a prerequisite to our intro to patchwork class.
