$125 + supplies

May session--Tuesday evenings

5/6, 13, 20 & 27 @ 6:30p to 8:30p

Teacher: Colette Cogley

Do you want to learn how to piece patchwork—but have little to no sewing experience?

No problem! As long as you know how to wind a bobbin and thread the machine—or have taken our sewing machine basic class—you’re good to go.

We’ve designed our new Urban Amish quilt as the perfect beginner’s project. The design plan for this quilt top is simple—the sewing easy—and the result extraordinary! You’ll learn the quilter’s essential skill set—how to rotary cut fabric, work with various measures on your ruler, sew quarter inch seams and construct a patchwork quilt top from strip sets and basic blocks.

This class is offered monthly. The next session will be Tuesdays June 3, 10, 17 & 24 @ 6:30p to 8:30p

The Blooming 9-Patch is simply a WOW of a quilt--yet it is deceptively easy to piece!

Who knew a quilt that packs this much visual impact could be so simple to make! And the beauty of it is that it works with so many different fabric sensibilities from batik to elegant French floral prints.

We won’t mislead you here—there’s some cutting and sewing involved in this one—but the piecing is deceptively simple using the strip piecing construction method. In fact many students step up to this bed-sized beauty as their second quilt project. So if you’ve been eyeing our Amy Butler Blooming Lotus and thinking you’d like to tackle it—here’s your chance. Bring it on!
